Investigate Chronic Pediatric Constipation Safely & Reliably
When your patient is struggling with chronic pediatric constipation, determining the next steps quickly is key, not just for their comfort, but for the peace of mind of their family. Start with SITZMARKS®, a non-invasive diagnostic test designed to provide clear insight into pediatric colonic motility and help detect pediatric outlet dysfunction, blockage, hypomotility, colonic inertia, or other motility disorders. SITZMARKS® for Kids is indicated for children experiencing severe constipation with otherwise negative GI evaluations and is the simple first step to bring clarity and relief to families.
Pediatric Colonic Transit Insights in Three Steps
SITZMARKS® for Kids allows you to get the answers you need with a simple process that is easy for patients and their families.
1
Prescription
A SITZMARKS® study starts with a prescription for the test.
2
Capsule
On day one, your patient takes an easy-to-swallow SITZMARKS capsule filled with 24 small radiopaque rings that move through the digestive tract. Alternative methods for children who cannot swallow the capsule include opening the capsule and emptying the contents into applesauce (or other similar food), ensuring all 24 markers are ingested. Over the next four days, the child can go about their regular activities, including school and sports, without disruption.
3
X-Ray
On day five, a flat plate abdominal X-ray shows how the markers have moved through the colon, helping identify whether pediatric constipation is due to delayed transit, outlet obstruction, or other motility issues. The visual scan is easy for families to understand and helps support informed next steps in care.
